Half of new unemployment claims last week were due to the pandemic
Unemployment claims remain high in Alabama.
There were 7,060 new unemployment claims filed in Alabama last week, according to the Alabama Department of Labor.
Of the claims filed between Oct. 25 and Oct. 31, half of them — 3,553 — were related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
