Alabama hospitals reported 557 COVID deaths in the 10 days ending Tuesday. Monoclonal antibody treatments can cut the need to hospitalize a COVID patient by 70 percent.

"We were pulling every lever and pushing every button  and using every resource we can think of," said State Health Officer Dr. Scott Harris.

Alabama's share is a portion of $6 billion in aid to community health centers nationwide for testing, treatment and vaccinations.
