Each of the first students to complete training through the $10 million innovation center were hired after their training.

The program has resulted in the matriculation of more than 16,000 Alabama residents from adult education to college.  

Murphy, who currently serves as superintendent of Hoover City Schools, has an educational background that spans 30-plus years.
