Dr. Jim Vickrey

Dr. Vickrey, Ph.D., J.D., writes from Montgomery at [email protected]. He is a graduate of Auburn (A.B., M.A.), FSU (Ph.D. in rhetoric and public address) and Faulkner University (J.D.). He has taught and/or worked at AU, UA, FSU, USF, UM (where he was the 11th president) and Troy University, whence he retired as a professor emeritus after 23 years. He specialized in presidential rhetoric, public speaking, argumentation and debate, legal rhetoric and other communication subjects, including ethics in public rhetoric. He has been honored for his commitment to the First Amendment and resistance to the censorship of public bodies. Four of six books have been published so far, along with dozens of scholarly and popular articles.
