Gov. Kay Ivey announced a new round of appointments on Friday, including four appointments to a new team tasked with designing Alabama’s new principal development program.

The four appointees are just four members of a team that will be composed of at least 21 members from various backgrounds, appointed by various other governing bodies. The program was created by legislation introduced by Sen. Arthur Orr, R-Decatur, that gained approval in the 2023 Legislative Session.

Ivey’s appointments to the team are Alonzo Barkley, Shannon Pignato, Suzanne Lacey and Nick Moore.

Ivey also announced the following appointments:

  • Rabbi Edward Boraz to the Holocaust Commission
  • Rep. Phillip Ensler, D-Montgomery, to the Holocaust Foundation
  • Megan Yates as Clay County district judge in the 40th judicial circuit 
  • Greg Gregerson, Johnathan Tang, Bill Davis and Zack Wilson to the Restriction of Youth Access to Tobacco Board
  • Fred DeLeon to the Licensure Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors
