Alabama Republican Primary qualifying opens today

The qualifying period for the 2022 Alabama Republican Party Primary opens today, Jan. 4 at 8:30 a.m. and will end Jan. 28 at 5 p.m., the Alabama Republican Party announced. 

Offices up for election during the 2022 Republican primary include governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, secretary of state, commissioner of agriculture and industry, treasurer and state auditor. 

Additional offices up for election include a U.S. Senate seat, all U.S. House seats, two Alabama Supreme Court seats, two Public Service Commission seats, four Alabama Board of Education seats, all Alabama House of Representative seats, all Alabama Senate seats, all District Attorney positions and dozens of Circuit and District Court judicial seats. 

Qualifying forms and fees must be received no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 28, or the prospective candidate will be denied ballot access.
