Of the claims filed during the week ending Oct. 3, 51 percent were COVID-19 related.
There were 7,732 new unemployment claims filed in Alabama last week, down from 8,805 filed the previous week, according to the Alabama Department of Labor.
Of the claims filed between Sept. 27 and Oct. 3, there were 3,907 related to the COVID-19 pandemic. That’s 51 percent, which compares to 46 percent the previous week.
