Lauderdale County man second COVID-19 death in Alabama

An Elgin man died Thursday, becoming the state’s second death from COVID-19. 

Albert Trousdale, 78, of Lauderdale County died Thursday, according to The Times Daily. 

“Johnson went to join Nicky in Heaven this morning. He will be missed by so many people. Please pray for Nancy, Julie, Matt and Nicole. Details of Funeral Arrangements will be announced at a later time,” someone wrote in a post on the Albert  Trousdale’s Recovery and Updates Facebook page. 

A Jackson County employee became the state’s first COVID-19 death on Wednesday.

The Alabama Department of Public Health is currently investigating the death, and hasn’t added it to the state’s official count yet.

As of Thursday afternoon there were 472 confirmed COVID-19 cases in 47 counties across Alabama.
