Gov. Kay Ivey successfully completed her first treatments for an isolated cancerous malignancy in her lung on Friday, Sept. 20 at UAB Medical Center.
Ivey’s spokesperson Gina Maiola announced that the outpatient procedure “went well and as planned,” and that Ivey, was back in Montgomery and “looks forward to returning to her regular schedule.”
Ivey is scheduled to offer remarks today at the United States Army Aviation Museum at Fort Rucker.
Last week, the governor revealed she was diagnosed with an isolated cancerous malignancy and would receive non-evasive radiation treatment.
Her doctors expect her to make a full recovery.
