A former Huntsville Police Department officer turned small businessman, Steve Rousseau, is launching his candidacy for the Alabama House of Representatives in District 6.

“As a small businessman, I can bring a straightforward and no-nonsense approach to Montgomery. We are facing tough and trying times in Alabama, but there is much cause for optimism,” Rousseau said.

Rousseau also served as a range, twice received the police of the year award during his 10 years on the force and served as the president of the Huntsville fraternal order of police.

“I have been a policeman, small businessman, and realtor,” Rousseau said. “Now I want to be your State Representative. I’m ready to get started.”

He now owns and operates Rousseau’s Sporting Goods & Awards in Huntsville.

“I wish to help usher in new and innovative ways to solve old problems. My 37+ years of entrepreneurship helped to develop my creative skills in dealing with difficult challenges,” Rousseau said.
