State is cleaning up after Hurricane Zeta
Almost 500,000 Alabama Power customers were without power immediately following the storm, including 163,000 in Mobile County alone.
State assessing damage from Hurricane Zeta
The state was still recovering from Hurricane Sally, which made landfall near Gulf Shores in September, and now it appears that Hurricane Zeta has left its own disaster area.
Zeta is a hurricane again
Zeta currently has sustained winds of 85 mph. On its current course it will make landfall at Southeast Louisiana or the Mississippi Coast late this afternoon and move through Alabama tonight.

Zeta is currently a tropical storm over the Gulf of Mexico, but it is predicted to make landfall as a category one hurricane.
