The push to ban divisive concepts in classrooms is designed to do one thing: kill real history and conversations that might bring us together.

This legislation is long overdue. Too many divisive concepts have been allowed to float through the classrooms and state-run workspaces of our state – especially when it comes to race, sex and religion.

Oliver gave examples of teachers attempting to teach children to accept communism, socialism and Marxism.

The bill doesn’t include the phrase “Critical Race Theory” but its definitions of “divisive concepts” clearly aim to ban the teaching of CRT.
