Rep. Aderholt announces $1M ARC grant for the city of Dora
The funding would advance water infrastructure at Heritage Landing, positioning the 50-acre Interstate 22 site for new business development.

Congressman Robert Aderholt, R-Alabama, announced Friday that the Appalachian Regional Commission approved a $1 million grant to the city of Dora.
The grant will help build a new 250,000-gallon elevated water storage tank and 1,000 linear feet of water main to support development at Heritage Landing, a 50-acre development site along Interstate 22 at Exit 78. The project will open the site for industrial, commercial or retail development.
“This investment will create long-term prosperity and support economic and workforce development for the region by opening up 11 construction-ready development sites,” Aderholt said. “As the existing water system prohibits future development, this ARC grant is a step toward bringing new businesses to Dora and the surrounding communities.”
Local sources will provide another $1 million, bringing the total project cost to $2 million.
The Appalachian Regional Commission is an economic development partnership between the federal government and 13 state governments focused on strengthening economic growth and opportunity across the Appalachian region.
