Ivey said the budgets reflected fiscal restraint while boosting core services and education.
Governor Kay Ivey on Thursday signed the General Fund and Education Trust Fund bills.
Ivey said her administration has worked to remain fiscally conservative while making investments to benefit Alabamians.
“Throughout my tenure as governor and even before, we have worked hard to be fiscally conservative in our budgeting, making meaningful investments to benefit the people of Alabama,” Ivey said.
Ivey said the 2026 Legislative Session marked her 10th session as governor and noted Alabama has not declared proration during her time in office.
“Our General Fund wisely invests in our core government services, and our Education Trust Fund is once again the largest ever investment in education in our state’s history,” Ivey said.
Ivey thanked budget chairmen Senator Greg Albritton, R-Atmore, Representative Rex Reynolds, R-Huntsville, Senator Arthur Orr, R-Decatur, and Representative Danny Garrett, R-Trussville, for their leadership.
“And thank you to our Legislature for continuing our strong track record of wise budgeting in Alabama,” Ivey said.
