U.S. Representative Terri Sewell, D-Alabama, will travel to Montgomery today to meet with state legislators and state agencies.

Sewell said the visit is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen federal-state collaboration and ensure that federal resources are used effectively to benefit communities across Alabama’s 7th Congressional District, according to her press release.

During the visit, Sewell will receive updates from state officials on the implementation and impact of federal funds allocated to Alabama, including more than $8 billion authorized for the state through the American Rescue Plan and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, as well as other programs that support economic development, infrastructure improvements and disaster recovery.

Sewell said she will also brief state legislators on recent developments in Congress, including legislative activity, federal budget matters and policy issues affecting Alabama.ell
