Sewell said she voted against the Senate spending bill because it failed to extend Affordable Care Act tax credits.
U.S. Representative Terri Sewell, D-Alabama, released the following statement Wednesday after voting against the Senate spending bill that fails to extend Affordable Care Act enhanced premium tax credits:
“From the very beginning, I have made it clear that I will not support a spending bill that fails to address the Republican health care crisis. By ending critical health care tax credits, this resolution will raise health care premiums for tens of millions of Americans and cause millions more to lose coverage altogether. That’s why I voted NO.
“The American people deserve a funding bill that reopens government and lowers health care costs. We can and must do both.”
Sewell represents Alabama’s 7th congressional district.
