Sen. Katie Britt receives the Salvation Army's "Fight for Good" award.

U.S. Senator Katie Britt, R-Ala., yesterday accepted the “Fight for Good” award from the Salvation Army. This award recognizes national leaders who champion legislation supporting the Salvation Army’s mission to help the most vulnerable among us in the United States.

“I am honored to receive the ‘Fight for Good’ award from the Salvation Army, one of many outstanding faith-based organizations across our state and nation dedicated to serving those in need. Their mission goes hand in hand with my commitment to be a voice for the voiceless and a champion for vulnerable Americans. I’m especially grateful for Alabama’s local Salvation Army units for their tireless efforts and impactful work within our communities,” said Senator Britt.

Since 2018, the Fight for Good Awards have been presented to federal policymakers who demonstrate exceptional leadership and champion federal policies that advance The Salvation Army’s mission to alleviate poverty throughout the United States. Senator Britt was nominated by local Salvation Army units in Alabama for her leadership in the U.S. Senate and support of policy priorities that further The Salvation Army’s efforts.
