Farnborough International Airshow

The Farnborough International Airshow is a premier aerospace industry trade event that occurs biennially and will commence today. The trade show will showcase aerospace manufacturers and suppliers worldwide, and Alabama hopes to continue building on its recent growth.

Alabama has a lengthy list of representatives from the state’s aerospace, aviation and defense sectors, economic development specialists and state leaders who will be attending.

Representatives from Auburn University and the University of Alabama in Huntsville, institutions with related degrees and proximity to the industry, will also be in attendance

Members from the Alabama Department of Commerce will engage in scheduled appointments and impromptu meetings with officials from all over in the next three days. In the last decade, meetings like these have played a part in growth projects in Alabama leading to over $4.3 billion in new investments.

Through a grant from the U.S. Small Business Administration, two Huntsville-based companies,  SEA Wire and Cable and IERUS Technologies, will exhibit their products at the “Made in Alabama” booth at the Farnborough Airport exhibition hall. These two companies will have a chance to place their products in front of international buyers.

Roughly half of the states in the U.S. are normally represented at the event, along with exhibitors from over 40 countries. The airshow will give Alabama locations a seat in front of international companies considering U.S. locations for growth projects.
