Alabama Rep. Wes Allen, R-Troy is outraising others vying to become Alabama’s next secretary of state. 

Allen, a former probate judge, has raised $233,054 during this election cycle, and spent $121,611 largely to the Montgomery-based political campaign management and marketing firm Virtus Solutions. Allen has $154,383 cash on hand, according to campaign finance reports. 

State Auditor Jim Zeigler has raised the second-most during this election cycle, at $29,460. Zeigler has spent $3.087 leaving a balance of $24,013. Zeigler’s largest expense during March, according to his campaign finance reports, was toward car rentals at Palmer’s Toyota in Mobile, at $1,740. 

Former Alabama House candidate Chris Horn has raised $26,940 and spent $15,093 leaving $11,847 in cash on hand. 

Ed Packard, a former employee in the secretary of state’s office, has raised $9,953 and spent $9,043. 

Pamela Laffitte, a corrections sergeant within the Mobile County Sheriff’s Department, has raised $4,935 and spent $4,124.
