The percentage of claims reported to be due to the pandemic dropped from 76 percent three weeks ago to 30 percent last week.
There were 10,909 new unemployment claims filed last week, according to the Alabama Department of Labor, down from 18,710 two weeks prior, the last week for which figures are available.
Of the new claims, 3,269 are estimated to be related to COVID-19, representing 30 percent. That decreased from 76 percent of claims filed two weeks earlier.
