New unemployment claims dropped last week
Fifty percent of the new claims were related to COVID-19.
There were 11,983 new unemployment claims filed last week, down from 14,084 the previous week, according to the Alabama Department of Labor.
Of the new claims, 5,982 were related to COVID-19, representing 50 percent. That’s down from 79 percent the previous week.
