Governor makes numerous appointments to state, local roles

One of the governor’s most important roles is their power to appoint their choices of people to fill vacancies in city and local governments and to state boards and agencies. On Tuesday, the governor’s office announced several new appointments.

Gov. Kay Ivey appointed:

• Rebecca Watson to the Etowah County Board of Registrars
• Keith Patterson and Joey Taff to the State Rehabilitation Council
• Evan Thornton to the State Personnel Board
• Barbara Estep, Drew Mason, Lisa Teel, Walter Simmons, Suzanne Woods, Donald Lilly, Hodges Washington, Mayor Harold Crouch, Brenda Culver, Terri Connell and State Senate Pro Tem Greg Reed, R-Jasper, to the Statewide Health Coordinating Council
• Jonathan Hester, Phillip West and Amy Rauworth to the Trails Commission
• Cynthia Buford and Gabriel Sapalaran to the State Nursing Board
• Rita Vandyke to the Health Licensure Advisory Board
• Malcolm Rice to the Supercomputer Authority
• Laura Reeder, Stephanie Armstead and John Megginson to the Midwifery Board
• Chrystal Morgan, Julie Kornegay, Laura Kappler-Roberts, Mike Petrus, Margaret Morton, Peggy Sease-Fain, and Dr. Phillip Cleveland to the Workforce Development Board
• David Weston, Anthony Gann, William Pickle and Craig Easter to the Beaverton City Council
