CQ Roll Call’s 50 State Project Asked APR to Name Top Policy Issues in Alabama

By Susan Britt
Alabama Political Reporter

MONTGOMERY—For the third year in a row, our Editor-in-Chief, Bill Britt, has been asked to weigh-in on CQ Roll Call’s 50 State Project. The report, which is issued nationwide, asks political reporters from all 50 states to name the top 5 policy issues confronting their states.

As CQ Roll Call points out, “So far this year, states have passed 19,313 bills to Capitol Hill’s 150. That’s a lot of legislation.” With that in mind, CQ Roll Call recruited more than 52 local reporters and policy observers and asked them one question: “What are the top 5 policy issues in each state?”
